I first fell in love with massage when I was 16. I was taken for a spa day as a birthday treat and all day I felt amazing and left feeling even better! I thought to myself, how great it would be to make people feel like that on a daily basis. I went on to study a diploma in Spa Therapy which included a variety of different wellness treatments and various massage techniques including Relaxation Massage, Swedish Massage, and Hot Stone Therapy Massage. During my time studying I also went on a trip to Thailand and competed a course in Thai Massage which was amazing, learning their type of massage and the different techniques and stretches developed my own massage a lot. Once I landed my first job in spa, the development continued and I went on to learn Deep Tissue Massage and Lava Shell Massage. Now, a few years on, I have decided to take it in a different direction. Although I love the holistic treatments, I have decided to study Remedial Massage which is what i am doing currently and hopefully Myotherapy after that so that I am able to work more in sports and help with injuries and little niggles that many of us have! GYM UPDATES
Morning everyone...gas works are still continuing on mount alexander road so please arrive early during the day for classes so you can find a park in time. Preferably park on the opposite side of the road (away from the city). The evening classes will not be affected. 26th of January (invasion day) class will be a wod - Murph. As a tribute to all the indigenous communities, we will run one class only for the day 90min long which will be a mix of murph and mobility. We will observe a minutes silence at the start of the class to pay respect to the original people of the land.We will have a donation box set up and all proceeds will go to AIME which is a mentoring program based at universities where we build a bridge back to local high schools & mentor the most disadvantaged kids out of inequality. We've successfully done this in Australia for the last 12 years & are about to share the model to the world. Class time 9am to 10.30am HAIL HYDRA Last Saturday (the 20th of January 2018) saw Hydra's first workshop for kids and it was a heap of fun. 9am to 10am saw Coaches Jes, Tori, Alessia and Kara take the bubs aged 2-4 years and a cheeky 7year old through some fun games that helped with peripheral awareness. 10am to 11 am saw the older kids aged 7-13 take on some strength training with some co-ordination games from hanging challenges to rowing and these little ones will put some of us adults (if not all) to shame. The smiles on their faces while completing tough tasks e.g. Ollie and Holly hanging for over two and a half min and rowing splits of 2:20min were some of the highlights of the morning. The coaches at the 10am session - Anurag, Leanne, Jes, and Hokeun were left in amazement with their determination and hard work! The day finished up with a lot of laughs and a lot of positivity from everyone at the gym. A big thank you to all the coaches that helped out at the Kids Workshops. I know a few people missed out bringing their kids in on the day but not to stress, we will be starting our kids classes during the school term.
