OUR HISTORY
HYDRA Movement opened its doors in January 2014.  Our aim has always been to teach people how to move well, no matter what their past.  We are proud followers of a movement philosophy in training.

HYDRA, in greek mythology, is a serpent like creature that dwells in the lake of Lerna, near Argos, and has numerous heads. Each time one is cut off, two grow back. So being harmed is what it likes.
Hydra represents Antifragility - which is how we aim to live. Rather than being harmed by physical or mental stressors, we grow stronger.
What we do
Hydra Movement offers a wide variety of training methods for adults and kids of all ages. We train in small group classes so that each student gets personalised instruction.

Our training methods include:
  • Training inspired by the whole body movement philosophy which covers movements including crawling, balancing, climbing, jumping, brachiating and more
  • Mobility work, hand-balancing, and strength development using gymnastic strength methods such as gymnastic rings
  • Olympic lifting and its component lifts
  • Running techniques learnt from studying with some of the most experienced barefoot and conventional running technique coaches.
  • Play based confidence building games

Our small group classes offer the benefits of tailored movement sessions for your individual needs (like group personal training) combined with the high energy, bonding and motivating experience of sharing the journey/experience with others in a large group class. Not too big... still personal. The sweet spot.

Aside from our group classes, we also offer personal training. Click the link below for more information.
